Western Bhutan Bike Excursion

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: On the first day of your arrival at Phuentsholing a border town that adjoins the Indian town of Jaigaon and southern Bhutan . Your tour guide will be there to welcome you and access you with all formalities. Your Guide will also brief you about the whole trip.

Day 2: Tour Guide will escort you to the immigration office for the route permit/entry permit. After that drive towards Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan which is 170kms from Phuentsholing. This time you won’t be riding due to the long distance so you will be traveling by the bus for 5 hours approximately. Upon reaching the capital you will need to check in at hotel. Do not worry, your guide will brief you about the next day’s program.

Day 3: After Breakfast you will be heading towards Kuensel Phodrang to witness one of the world’s largest sitting Buddha Statue. After that ride towards changagngkha temple which was build in 17th century. This time you won’t be riding through proper road instead you are going to ride through the natural trail called KC trail. Take your lunch at hotel and start riding to Sangaygang View Point where you will get to see the view of the whole Thimphu city. From there ride down to textile museums and famous painting school. Then you would be riding back to the hotel.

Day 4: On fourth day we will be heading towards Punakha, which is of 78kms ride from the capital. Punakha is also the second capital of Bhutan until 1994. On the way visit the highest point between Thimphu and punakha called Dochula pass 3150mts. It’s one of the historical point with 108 stupa and it provides you the majestic panorama view of snow capped mountains. Start riding downhill for at least one and half hours. On reaching to Punakha check in at a hotel. After lunch you will be visiting Punakha Fort and the longest suspension bridge of Bhutan. On the way back visit the Fertility temple. Evening leisure around the Punakha town.

Day 5: You will be returning from Punakha on fifth day and head towards Paro via Thimphu. This time you would be driving till Dochula and from there you would need to riding till Paro, 76kms from Dochula.

Day 6: On sixth day you would be riding till the base camp of Tigers nest and hike towards the monastery for two hours. On your way back you will be heading towards Rimpong Fort and Paro National Museum after the lunch. Ride back to town and go for a free leisure shopping.

Day 7: On the last day of your Drukyul tour, you would be driving back to Phuentsholing. Upon reaching there your guide and driver will see off you.
